Autonomous Semi Trucks Are Coming and They’re Driverless

These are NOT just Autonomous Semi Trucks, these are DIFFERENT. Fully autonomous semi trucks, completely DRIVERLESS, unless you consider a ROBOT to be a truck driver. These semi trucks are operated using Artificial Intelligence or Generative AI and unlike traditional self-driving truck companies that rely on millions of miles of driven data, Waabi is leveraging generative AI technology that learns and adapts without massive data requirements.

With plans to deploy their cutting-edge driverless trucks in Texas by 2025 and a recent $200M investment from venture capitalists, Waabi is set to transform the industry. However, this technology comes with its own set of challenges and questions: How will it impact trucking jobs? What are the safety concerns and benefits?

Let's look at the potential of autonomous semi trucks and what they mean for the future of the trucking industry. Will this spell the end of the truck driver? Will truckers and their roles in the trucking industry evolve or devolve?

It'll be less water bottles in restroom and less feet washing in the sink at truck stops

Those are not good numbers on the flat bed.

I can see Autonomous Semi Trucks on highway routes, but nothing more. The technology is not ready unless you remove all cars and people from all roads.

There will be an up side to driverless trucks if you own a towing company!

💯 they are and I'm exiting the logistics this year. Nobody will be able to compete with driverless semi trucks. I'm not waiting around for these tech pirates that act more like parasites on society and offer no real benefit to society.
Sucks having to go back to school late in life but it beats waiting around for human greed to destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Poor dispatching, not efficient, should be going after local loads that pay more.

Another nightmare in the waiting and the making… when are they going to realize you cannot replace a real human truck driver with all the possibilities and the chaos out here on the road it’s just another accident and death waiting to happen or should I say multiple!
But safety first what do I know?
Benefits what benefits there are none except for the rich people .

Disagree. The potential liability is catastrophic. The carrier will no longer be able to place the blame on the driver. First time mother-of-3 runs her SUV into the stopped ai trailer at 60mph because she was texting-while-driving, it will break the biggest firm. The ambulance chaser will paint the autonomous truck as a manifestation of Skynet and the jury of pregnant ladies will punish both the manufacturer and the carrier in 11 figures. They'll have to have a driver in there somewhere to take one for the team.

Truck drivers will certainly become obsolete. Our safety concerns are irrelevant because America wants to push this technology onto the economy

Sorry drivers. Better start planning your exit out of trucking. I'll give it 3 more years till trucking is fully automated
