If there is a patient with Kidney failure, then they are put on dialysis if a transplant has not been conducted.
However, Shifa International Hospital has introduced Peritoneal Dialysis in which a machine is not needed to clean the blood, nor does the blood need to be taken out of the patient’s body. This can be done at the patient’s own home.
Through a minor surgery, a Catheter is placed on the patient’s stomach, the patient then receives the fluid needed for dialysis. The biggest benefit of this is that the patient can work, and live their life with ease without having to spend hours in the hospital on the bed.
