I am 79 and am suffering at home with pneumonia right now. I live alone, except my two cats Susie Q and Miss Pearl. In my recliner, they come to visit me and it is so comforting. I feel a great deal better with one of them on lap and the other at my feet. They know how to make me feel better. And this story touched me. Brought tears.

As a Vietnam Vet and lover of cats who has taken in several neighborhood strays, thanks for (1) taking in Kashka and, (2) serving in the military.

I have a nephew who is diagnosed with autism and he would throw tantrums all of a sudden and cries easily but whenever that happens, his cat would snuggled up to him and then he would start to calm down. Believe it or not, animals do help in lessening psychological burdens and stress and yes, even cats do care.

I also brought my cat with me when i moved back to my home country....the whole way on the plane i was praying for him, then he had to be quaranteened for 3 wks and i was also sending him blessings...one night he came to my dream to tell me hes ok, and he stayed with me and loved me unconditionally for 18 years.

While deployed for Allied Force, there was a cat that wandeed the tent area. One day I got back and he was snoozing on my cot. I let him be and he would come back every day and just keep me company. Having grown up with cats I can sympathize with him. It fills a gap of sorts and calms you inside. Well Done Sarge.

Cats are phenomenal. Once you build a rapport with a cat it is an amazing experience. I love dogs also but cats are special in a different way. I have had the pleasure of many in my lifetime and could not imagine living without their grace and presence.

I know how that soldier felt in willing to pay a high cost to rescue a Pet that he loves very much.  My little Cat was really ill a Year ago in which I took her to the Vet in which they told me that it will cost me $2500.00 to save her life and its best to just put her down.  I choose to save her life in which to this very Day it's was worth the cost because my Tabby is always apart of my life give me her unconditional love.

What a fine man and a good kitty.  Angels know when to intervene in order to save them both.  Bless him for his service.

This is one of the best news stories I have ever heard. I have two cats at home and they mean the world to me. So, whenever I see a story about someone saving a pet, it make me realize that if my cats were in that situation I would do the same thing for them.
