Love Traffic! Yeah, Steve is keyboards and guitar and singing and songwriting. The whole package!

Winwood is a very, very good guitar player. His solo of this song on Clapton's Crossroad Benefit from 2010(i think it was 2010) is incredible.

Steve is a gifted multi-instrumentalist. He could play a grill with wrenches and make it sound extraordinary.
Piano, organ, guitar, mandolin, sax, bass, drums and quite a few others as well.

Steve Winwood was a child prodigy. He appeared on British television when he was only a young teenager playing organ singing like Ray Charles. He’s a very gifted multi instrumentalist.

Winwood is an absolute legend and severely underrated. Have loved Winwood in every iteration of his career and definitely looking forward to more coverage of Steve Winwood on your channel Doug! This is an amazing performance, one I have enjoyed and watched many many times.

I've seen Steve live many times over the years and he never disappoints with his stellar musicianship, whether he's playing keys, guitar, mandolin and of course, that voice. I saw him open for the Doobie Brothers this summer and at 76 years old, he still brings it, including this outstanding song. Another great video, Doug.

The way this tune rises and falls and the lyrics pulling you this way and that, a roller coaster of emotions. Brilliant.have loved it for over 50 years now.

That’s why music then was more alive (better), the music doesn’t follow rules but feelings and meaning.

This song isn't about the audience calling for the performer to do what they ask. The song is about the thoughts of the performer lamenting how he's sacrificed his own happiness and what's best for him for the sake of making his audience happy instead.

Love this album and this song. Reminds me of my high school years. Steve is a multi-instrumentalist. He played organ on Jimi Hendrix's brilliant live (track #4 on Electric Ladyland) "Voodoo Chile" (not Voodoo Child, Slight Return), 14:59. You'll love it!

So good to see you enjoying the music I became an adult listening to. Saw Traffic a few times then. Always wonderful.

I was so surprised when I learned that Winwood played lead guitar on this one. Tremendous guitar work. Winwood is also a great keyboard player. Tremendous musician....

I love watching this band no matter where they play. They always seems stoned. Or hyper focused, either way. Love groovy, extended jams. Steve is off the charts talented. I have to say that I believe there's more than one recording of this done live as I've seen the one they did in some outside venue, several times.

Until today, I never knew that was Stevie on lead guitar throughout this song. Very iconic guitar playing.

This group is one of my all time favorites. Winwood is so unbelievably talented, it’s insane. I also think, in this video, that he is in another dimension mentally which makes even more astoundingly fantastic.

Saw him perform it live a month ago. He His daughter backed him up. He opened for the Doobie Brothers, who were AMAZING! Steve toured with the Dead back in the day (80's?). There is video of Jerry coming out and playing this song with Steve.

This is, indeed, one of the better videos of their early performances. One of my Favorite Traffic tunes, of many.

Best version, great footage showing bandmembers having a great time. Chris Wood on organ is sublime.

Love Traffic. "On The Road" is one of those great 70s live albums, perfect to turn on and let the music just carry you away.
