I remember watching this in a movie theater in 1997. Got me interested in playing the game. I first thought it was an anime film before the PS1 logo appeared. Great times.

1995-1998 may have been the best years for video games as a kid. You had all these amazing leaps in technology, and i still remember the commercials to some amazing games like Metal Gear Solid

This commercial is the reason I bought a PlayStation in 1997.

I was 10 when it released and I wanted a PSX just bc I wanted to play this game. I wasn't a FF or RPG player yet but I could tell just by the commercial that it was something special and unlike anything that came before it. The rest, as they say, is history.
