Greetings, mister.
I have got one question.
The Youtube after-upload processing absolutely destroys the quality of my GoPro Hero 6 Black videos (interesting enough, one of my go-kart onboard video at night was not affected, or just maybe only a little quality degradation).
So, I am talking about the horrible "pixelization" sequences, every few seconds, once harder, once smoother. How to get around that? Nowhere to find the answer!

Am I doing something wrong? The file remuxed but its showing as .mkv and not mp4? Is that ok?

what's your opinion, why would it matter, if you can press PYBLISH right after the file uploaded and not to be waiting the processing.
I always like to be sure everything's ok, and ppl see fully processed result, but might it be unnecessary?

Waste of time. Although first 'processing' is faster, it gives only 360p at first, but much, much later HD and even more time to wait to become UHD. Yet, tutorial is excellent. Thank you for that.

How can we upload videos so youtube doesn't need to reencode it? They use VP9 once a video is 1440p or bigger. They are always going to reencode it no matter what aren't they? I mean even if you downloaded say, a 4K video and copied (exactly) the settings and made your video the same, it's still going to process it at youtube? Why on earth are they using VP9 when it takes an absolute dogs age to encode? No wonder "processing" takes so long. Swap to HEVC or something you clowns.
