As far as I see it, most regular people are being fooled into thinking the Digital Yuan represents an investment opportunity. People think that because it's backed by China, and that China's economy is growing so quickly, that its Digital Yuan may behave like other Cryptocurrencies have and rapidly grow - returning massive profits.

I think the digital yuan will hurt bitcoin because it competes with Tether which lots of people use to buy and trade crypto. I think the USD has alot to be scared of as well since it seems like China is alot more careful about not overprinting yuan and in less debt than the US.
