1) show not tell by giving examples
2) explain passions
3) tie all activities back to degree
4) look up what each uni wants
5) state why you want that degree upfront
6) big your extra curricular stuff up-“humble things that are amazing”
7) read it out loud so many times
8) your first draft is never yours first draft.
9) don’t lie- be able to talk about what you write irl

As a 33 year old nurse with 2 kids under 3, I am attempting to get onto a masters programme at my local university. I can’t remember the last time I had to submit a personal statement and I didn’t know where to begin! What a wonderful, intelligent young woman!
