It seems like some people have so many great ideas –  like Albert Einstein, who as well as changing everything we know about the whole of space and time, also took a stab at fashion. Rest assured there are ways that the rest of us can be more creative, too. Following on from the last episode on the Neuroscience of Creativity, we explore some practical tips for boosting your creativity and generating more great ideas.

This episode was written by Bahar Gholipour and hosted/produced/animated by Vanessa Hill.

Speaking of Einstein, last night I was pondering why time slows down when objects approach the speed of light. I came to the conclusion that particles are always moving (not travelling) at the speed of light, a mixture of rotation, vibration, orbital, and good old fashioned linear motion all adding up to c. But since you can't exceed the speed of light, all the other motions, except linear, slow down when approaching c. So electrons don't orbit, protons don't vibrate as quickly, etc. It might explain why all the elementary particles have such a long lifetime, since they're constantly moving at c, compared to, say muons. The sum of the muons' motion may be fractionally less than c, so it decays quickly.

Does this basically mean that all the protons and electrons in the universe are 0 seconds old? And that time doesn't really exist at all?

This is why I can't get to sleep at night..

It's so true about reading makes you more creative.Because when I write essays, I always draw inspriration from the books I have read.
It helps me so much.

Also creativity is a lot about problem solving. You'll hardly ever manage to come up with a great idea out of nowhere, for no reason, but it's more simple and easy than you might think to come up with creative solutions once you actually have a reason for it.
That's why battles and competition make for great new inventions, and more often than not, when people explain how they came up with a new product, it was initially meant for their own use. You need something done, you try and figure out a way to get that done.

Pick up the box.
But what's in the box?

...Pick up the box.

You were creative in using a ceramic-covered pan to make oil free popcorn. I had wondered about that but never tried it. However, the, what I assume the European/Australian custom of putting the cutlery on the left side of the plate didn't completely work out. I see how your friend promptly moved hers to the right side. But that doesn't have anything to do with being creative unless it is being observational on my part, which is part of being creative. But I don't know if that's true. And I'm not trying to show off, at least not much.

I've found that a good way to become more creative in a field is to practice the basics, become fluent, and then teach others. In doing so, it cements the basics, while you are at a higher level, thus improving your skills, and allowing you to see things from a different point of view. In doing so, you see those basics in a new light. Before it was work. Now you can see the whys and hows and apply them differently. Sort of like how older people like to say "if I knew then what I know now" or "if I could shove my brain/knowledge into a younger me". Sort of.

Good idea! If we want to CATCH Einstein we need to THINK like Einstein!

It took those 'specialists' 100 years after Einstein's stuff to figure out that: 1st more brain connections means more creativity, 2nd better brain connections mean more associations, 3rd do more to build brain connections, bonus: that doesnt stop at school. That is worth a video and people think it's amazing, srsly? Now read that again and ask yourself: what's the news here? You can even replace Einstein (altough a great one) by Pasteur, Darwin or Descartes in this video and it would not have no more or less content.

INTP: Einstein's MBTI.

Great video btw, and all of the characteristics you've linked are all associated with great strengths virtually all INTP possess. Mainly, the generative thinking (Extraverted Intuition [Ne]) is what gives INTP their curiosity and knack for discovery novel ideas. This coupled with their main strength, introverted thinking [Ti] allows them to dissect each individual part into it's logical components to figure out how things work. In a nutshell, the combination of these two strengths allows them to generate new ideas, tinker/break them apart/retest them/gather additional data/modify their idea/theory if needed, and repeat until they've found the correct answer. There's a reason why crazy hair and intelligence are associated with the "scientist" stereotype...as many of them are INTPs (this doesn't exclude other types from being great scientists) but people are predisposition to attune to their strengths in their life in some form (for most, a career).

If you know a confirmed INTP in real life, ask them about this, and if they are knowledgeable about their psychological processes/functions, they will tell you the exact same thing...or better yet, you can observe these traits in them.

The main difference with Einstein is that his brain just advanced beyond many others, so even if other people were able to think like him, the sheer capacity of his intelligence was off the scale, leading him to discover so many things.

Positive reinforcement is it? Well, we're all beset by such constraints. Now I'm no video creator, yet I managed to - albeit briefly - imagine the challenges of a birds eye camera over a stove. I would like to know just how the camera was attached?
