So sorry I just had to re-upload this! And here my friends is ANOTHER teachable moment, based on a (rookie!) mistake! In the first upload, I was trying to show some of my short-form video content, on TikTok, so I downloaded one of my TikTok videos and popped it in, ONLY it had the TikTok watermark on it, BIG Mistake! The YT Algorithm sees that as "Copyright infringement" and then sends me a Copyright Infringement notice with the message that my video will get less reach because of it (ugh) so after all the work that went into this video, it was worth losing the first 1200 views in order to re-upload it in order to get a wider reach, and therefore hopefully help more people with their food content. Phew OK, take 2! Here we go again LOL!

Thank you for this Beth! I must say, and I feel extremely naive for saying this... but I honestly just wasn't aware that such an intense amount of work went into one single video. Watching as a viewer, it all looks so effortless - but I now realise that therein lies the real skill - the ability to MAKE IT LOOK so effortless! Your work is nothing short of amazing Beth! <3

Congratulations on ten years Beth!

I have been following your content quietly for many years, and even after all this time you continue to be a true inspiration for me both as a creator and with all the recipes you share. I didn't know it was possible but I have truly fallen even further in love with your content with your recent long-form videos - from Beth in France to these more behind-the-scenes videos. It just brings another level of warmth and authenticity to your channel that lets me feel even more connected with you as a person.

You are one of the few creators that always leaves me with a smile as I watch your content, in fact this video published right after a 13 hour work shift and I was delighted to have had an entire 40 minute video to unwind with! Your can-do pragmatic yet encouraging spirit is something that really brightens my day especially as a creator myself, and I'm so grateful to have gotten to follow along on your journey.

To many more years of great cooking and thank you again for everything that you do! (I should also add I have tried plenty of your recipes over the years and not one of them has failed me yet!)

WOW. This video is impressive. I worked in television lighting, shooting and editing my own field productions. What you did here is no easy task. I stand in applause here. Well done Beth, very very very well done.

Beth, can you imagine I watched this only today, & am so glad I did even if I have no plans whatsoever to start a YouTube channel because I’m lazy, 😂. I never thought that it takes so much effort and time to shoot a cooking video! And am just amazed at your dedication and passion to produce all these videos, blog, TikTok, wife ( or wifehood?), Motherhood. And I feel I must tell you that I really love your being true to yourself because I can relate as a simple person who doesn’t need to show off. Your recipes are amazing & I have used some of the simple ones to some degree of satisfaction by my girls. Hubby is always appreciative of my effort so… 😂 Thank you so much Beth, looking forward to seeing you more soon - I’d love to see a simple 2024Christmas menu, prepared in the kitchen if your new home in France. By the way I’m in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, in case you’re wondering😅

I love how authentic you are. I love how humble you are. I only found you a year ago and it felt like Christmas. I binged you for about 4 hours on a very rainy Sunday afternoon. I didn't realize at the time your career history of working with your Dad's tv show. I kept telling my family & friends to check you out, "Beth is such a natural and enjoys cooking so much, she makes every recipe look easy to prepare and her channel is so professional for a home cook." Dear Lord, Beth I had no idea all the work you do to film. I feel bad, like I didn't appreciate you and your recipes enough. So, although I don't want to have a YouTube channel of my own, I absolutely love that you shared this with us. All the best to you, Beth. I'm a forever fan. Also, I really enjoy the recipes you share. I have made so many of them. My son said our dining is so much better since I've tried to cook and bake like you. 😊

Congratulations for those 10 years ! Wow! Very interesting. So much details. So much work. And well made. Love what you do and the fact that you think about people when you cook, not only the food. Well done.

I love ❤️ videos and I truly believe the social Media should give it a lot more appreciation to your channel after seeing your hardwork.

Regarding lighting, in movies it’s done to fit the tone of the subject. Bright and cheery would represent breakfast, summer, spring. Dark, Warm and cozy is autumn, holiday seasons. That’s something I don’t see much in cooking videos. Like show us what it looks like to cook when that Southern California sunset 🌅 approaches.

Also, I enjoyed the ambience for birthday dinner party you did, that was pure outdoor cozy summer nights fantasy. Truly reminded of the one in Chocolat 😌 I would love to do all of that💯.

Thank you very much for sharing all your advices!!! You have given me more hopes on making better videos despite the fact that my husband is not supportive.

I do agree that we should only focus on if we have done better than before and if we have learned something from the process. Making videos is actually an interest for me to capture the moments of my life, my garden, and my son that I would like to look back in future. I should do it for fun and for the people we love to watch my videos. 😊
Thank you!

Thank you so much. I’m just about starting my Chocolate and Baking channel and feeling so overwhelmed already. There’s so many things I have to learn from scratch especially about cameras, video shooting techniques, etc. But I thank God that I just discovered your channel. Its so encouraging and helpful for beginners. Thanks again and God Bless

I just love your videos. And I love this one in particular because I thought filming a YouTube video is to much complicated. But I love all your videos

Hello Beth - Somehow I just stumbled across your channel and this video. With a much smaller channel and slightly fewer years, what a delight watching this video. I'm not sure I learned too much new but, more importantly, I've received confirmation of the so many steps, time and process. Yes, set up takes time but you MUST clean / straighten up the kitchen first. Place the lights, the stands, the tripods. Check the lights, check them again. Turn on the mic, connect the mic. Look for glare, check the framing, check the cameras, don't forget to hit record.

I've found my most successful pattern is to plan to shoot the video across two days. One day for the talking shot, one day for the close-ups. I've tried switching the order and have found it depends on the recipe. And, given my career in tech I suppose, I edit the death out of the videos before I'm happy with them. It's probably overkill but in that sense I aim for perfect imperfection. I probably spend too much time on the edit but that's where I get much of my satisfaction.

Thanks for sharing!
