I liked Janis when I was a kid. Now, as an old man (70) I can appreciate her enough to love her music.

Janis had more soul in her nail clippings than most people could muster.

A voice like no other. Got to give some love to the band Big Brother and the Holding Co. also. They are phenomenal.

I was lucky enough to see her live. She was relatively sober and put on one of the best shows I have ever seen. There will never be another close to her.

Love love love Janis 💖 my kids used to complain about me cranking her up (they were born in the early & mid 90s) now they thank me for all the performers I made them listen to during their youth 😂🤩

One of my favorite Janis songs. She was so unique & so soulful and passionate. No one else like her.

Janis was such an amazing performer, how tragic that her personal life was full of heartache and self doubt. The movie Little Girl Blue is an enlightening documentary about Janis. She was voted "ugliest man on the campus"...can you imagine what effect that had?😔😔

Summertime is such a classic, and Janis' version is iconic. You could also check out the versions by Billy Stewart (from the 60s; we all heard it on the radio) and Ella Fitzgerald. And Mercedes Benz by Janis!

I started listening to Janis in the late 60s and never looked back! When you talk about passion, it has Janis written all over It! She was the goat of her johnra...

Janis was a phenomenon. Beyond being, undoubtedly, the finest female blues/rock vocalist in modern history. She was an angel who walked the Earth, at a time when we all needed her the most... but, for FAR too brief of a time.
Although she left us way too soon, the magic of her music remains... and her love.
We love you too, Pearl. Forever & Always.
Cheers! 🍻🌹🌎❤🎤🎶🎸🎵✌

Janis Joplin had a scream that could shatter glass then put all the pieces back together with a quiver

Oh my I remember this and not only is this unforgettable it is also absolutely great ! I was about her age, I was born and living in LA back then. I liked her music but I really didn’t appreciate just how wonderful it really was. Thanks for the reminder and allowing me to enjoy this song again. It’s actually one of my favorites

This lady could sing! Sadly we lost her too soon. She was only 27 when she died. "Me & Bobby McGee" is one of my favorites by her but she had a lot of great songs such as "Piece Of My Heart", "Cry Baby", "Down On Me", "Maybe", "Little Girl Blue", "Ball & Chain", "Try (Just A Little Bit Harder)", "To Love Somebody", "Get It While You Can", "Bye, Bye Baby", "Move Over" & her original song "Mercedes Benz".

Damn I just love her. People were cruel to her in school and when she tried to go to college. It breaks my heart and I wish she knew how loved she is! We still listen to you! You’re loved and will always be loved, Janis! I hope the bullies in school think everyday how they hurt her. Words matter! Be kind to people, because people tend to forget the good things people say, and the bad things stick with them. We love you Janis. I hope somehow you know how appreciated you and your music still is! 😢♥️💐
