(22-33) A long cylindrical shell of radius R_0 and length l (R_0 much smaller than l) possesses a uniform surface charge density (charge per unit area) σ (Fig. 22-33). Determine the electric field at points (a) outside the cylinder and (b) inside the cylinder ; assume the points are far from the ends and not , too far from the shell (R much smaller than l ). (c) Compare to the result for a long line of charge, Example 22-6. Neglect the thickness of shell.
