The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has operated a class of warship known as the Anzac-class frigates since the late 1990s. The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), which served in World War I, inspired the naming of these ships, which were created as part of a collaborative initiative with the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN).
The 3,600-ton displacement of the 118-meter-long Anzac-class frigates. They have a variety of weaponry at their disposal, such as 5-inch gun, missiles, torpedoes, and machine guns. Additionally, the ships have sensors like radars and sonars that enable them to identify and engage hostile targets. The ships can travel at a top speed of 27 knots and are incredibly agile.

The Anzac-class frigates are more agile and adaptable than the larger and more powerful United States Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. Additionally, they are substantially less expensive to run and maintain.
