I was done with college...and broke. I bought an 89' F-150 for $500 sight unseen, that had the I6. On cracking tires and a rapidly deteriorating clutch master cylinder, that truck got me from Anchorage, AK to San Francisco, CA, in the dead of winter, without a single issue. Then I drove it 10 more years. Never a single issue with the engine, and it had at least 300K. Should have never sold her.

My truck's from 1977 and has a 302, but now i feel bad because it had this thing originally and people make it seem really good! Nothing bad happened with the 302 yet though.

as an Australian I have 3x6 cylinder Ford engines in the 66 Falcon coupe I have a 200 cubic inch made in Australia just rebuilt I put everything back on it by my self and it started the first time from a static tune-up I could not believe it, I believe I'm a good boilermaker I'm a s*** mechanic but it started?Fme, sue has a Ford Territory with a 6 cylinder x German gearbox fantastic. I have an old 05 we call them a ute, burra engine 1 ton there is a variable camshaft in these things they need to be screaming for the oil pressure to engage it, man you get wheel spin at 80k per hour its done 265000 km 16500mi Ford and General Motors make the best cars in Australia they have ever made and then went home???

I have an 81 f150 with 93 4.9l. Pulled all the fuel inj. off and put a 1bbl carb on it. Had to run electric fuel pump because no hole for mechanical but works like a clock
