Been working on my family for a few years now letting them know we don’t need anything and to focus on others (I.e. kids/grandkids). The best gift they give is being a babysitter/dog sitter when we need a hand, I just wish they would see it that way.

Hi, Rebecca. I hope you’re doing well. In January, I began a year-long goal to make one hundred decisions per week to donate, sell, or recycle five thousand items in one year. Remembering how you talk us through your thought process and showing us your pile of items that you let go of keeps me working through this. I have gotten a thousand items out of my house and I think you’d be proud of me. I still have far to go, but I think of new ways to ask myself hard questions. An example would be, if I had twelve free hours to read this book, would I do it, or rather do something else? And other lines of gentle reasoning that come from your perspective. Thank you; it would feel a little more like spring if you post a video 😊💕

Hello! I think that we do not have to give gifts to each other (give only to children), because we already have everything. We are adults who have everything imaginable, but we are so lonely, so I think a little time together is the best gift in our oversaturated world.

Great tips, Rebecca!
It's hard to ask for no presents in my family so I'm trying to make a list of things I need, services like a subscription or places I want to visit.

This is so helpful. Each year I’ve cut back more and more and it’s so freeing.

Great video. I love your homemade decorations. This year we are just getting gifts for the kids and doing lots of donations instead of ANY gifts to the adults. I love not having to really shop and just getting to enjoy holiday activities instead. #notsendingyouagift

I'm blunt 😌 I directly state please nooo gifts 🎁 money or going out to eat/hang is great haha
I recently moved so did major decluttering
Plus my apt is lacking space.
I can't think of anything I truly need 🤔 today I'm taking my mom out to a circus then dinner.

Please tell us what the "snow" was on the pinecones. It looked really neat.

Great tips Rebecca! My favorite is #9 and my family started gifting fewer presents just a few years ago out of necessity. We started having family come from out of town and they were not able to travel with tons of presents back home. Having only one special gift has allowed better quality items and more thought into the purchase for my family. Happy Holidays everyone!
