Twin Turbo 1UZ Mazda RX-7 Review! - 9 Second MONSTER on the Street!

New uploads every Monday,Wednesday, and Saturday! For this crazy Mazda RX7, it sure did get a crazy heart transplant. With the 1UZ V8 out of the Lexus SC400, that wasn't enough for the team that built this car. Instead, they added two turbochargers in the already crammed space under the hood. The car is no joke with it running times in the 9 second range of the quarter mile. To underestimate this thing would be a huge mistake. Thanks for watching and more below!

1st Gen Rx-7 owner here. For all my Rotary haters, I have almost 200k on the original unopened 12a with years of hooning under it's belt. Love the build but I will never put anything but a rotary in my Rx-7. Good video David!

Great video sir, 1UZ is probably one of the most underrated V8's out there... very light weight and can clearly support a good amount of power!

That fuel pump is why I've always like running MKIV Denso fuel pump(s... if you need more fuel). They're quiet like a factory pump but keep up or outflow the Walbros etc. I had a Walbro (whiny-bro) 255 in my first RB swap and just couldn't do it after that...

I've seen some nice 240SX 1UZ swaps on youtube. If only the Lexus 1UZ and Nissan VH45 had more aftermarket support these engines would become more popular for swaps.

1UZ engines will never make LS power, but you sure can’t beat the refined smoothness, the way they sound, and they way the power ramps on so linear. These engines are masterpieces!

People can say what they want, but with a small aftermarket, people were making 1000+hp with these small displacement V8s years ago! I remember a Australian build back in 2014 that was making 1200 with a restrictive manifold and some other stuff that could have been better. They were planing on changing a few things and getting 1500 out of it. It's capable. Light and can last a good bit. Say what you will, but if you have to compare this engine to a 6.2L or any other big displacement V8, clearly the 1uz is doing something right. Also won best engine award.

The 1UZFE is an underrated engine, it can get expensive to build though since parts are usually hard to come by. I have an SC400 that I really wanna stuff a W58 or 350z 6-speed in to, but at a swap cost totaling around $5000, I don't know if its worth it. I could just put that towards a Mustang or a 370.
