The greatest paradox is how much better films were before 2015. Often with far less

one of my favorite moment in Back to the Future 2 is when they had just landed in the future and Doc is quickly explaining what Marty needs to do. His watch suddenly starts beeping to which Doc is responding shocked and yells "DAMN!! I'M LAATEE!!!". It is such a ridiculous thing to say for someone that owns a time machine and it is details like these why I love this trilogy so much.

This trilogy presents never-ending thought experiments.

Fun facts: Parts 2 and 3 were filmed back to back, with only a 4 week break between the wrap of part 2, and the beginning of filming for part 3. The total production costs for all three movies were around 100 million $$ (not including the compensation for Crispin Glover's lawsuit), and even with the declining profits of each sequel compared to the original, the trilogy still made nearly 1 billion $$ combined, in theaters worldwide. So that's almost 10X, not including profits from merchandising and home video releases.

BTTF2 was always my favorite. Lord please protect these movies from ever being "revisited". 🙏

Around the time II was released, I had subscribed to the Back to the Future Fan Club, which put out several issues of a magazine. As a freebie, they sent me a postcard of a painting. It was Marty and Doc riding the DeLorean in 1885 with horses pulling it. Years later, 2013, I think, I took it with me to a DeLorean car show in Dayton, OH where Bob Gail signed the card for me. He was the nicest guy, too. I realized I missed a great chance to ask him anything I wanted to about the scripts he wrote, but I chose to thank him instead. Such a wonderful series of films. I hope, like the DeLorean in a mine, the franchise stays undisturbed for decades to come. It never ever could benefit from a reboot. They nailed it the first time

One detail nobody mentions about time travel is that it also involves traveling across vast distances though space when you consider how fast the earth moves around the sun, and the sun around the galaxy, and the galaxy around its cluster and so on, it boggles the mind to think about that. How would you even calculate the exact position in time space you’d have to be in to successfully travel to the past???

Regarding the paradox of using parts from the buried Delorean to repair the one Marty used to go back to 1885, it makes one ask about the Bill and Ted scenario "dont forget the trash can" scene. Doc and Marty would take inventory of what parts they use and leave that in the note for their future selves. Then again time travel movies bring up all sorts of paradoxes, loop holes, and questions.

Doc even mentions in Part III that he put gas in the tank of the DeLorean before Marty goes back to 1885. It's a 'blink and you'll miss it' line.

Doc: "Okay, I think we're about ready. I put gas in the tank, your
future clothes are packed, just in case fresh batteries for your
walkie-talkies. Oh, and what about that floating device?"

Marty: "Hoverboard."

I wish they made movies like these again. Original story with original ideas.

Paradoxes aside, it was a fun romp back when movies were designed to entertain, and not simply propagate "The Message" TM.

So glad that Robert Zemeckis was admant that they can't reboot Back To The Future. I'm sure that the film makers would make a lot of money from it too! The original trilogy were perfect!

I've been saying for years that there was 4 Deloreans on that day. This video is just what we needed.

Old Biff didn't disappear because he became a different person. In the directors comentary they state that he was killed by Lorraine before then, so he didn't exist.

BTTF II was one of my earliest VHS experiences and III one of my earliest memories in cinema movie theater... Is THE one trilogy I wish Hollywood would never touch, reimagine, red con, revisit..

When this inevitably gets remade, it'll be a tragedy.

Actually, the reason Biff is in such pain and starts disappearing is that he's dead in that timeline. Apparently, Lorraine finds out at some point that Biff was the one who killed George, so she kills him in retaliation by shooting him through the heart. Hence why old man Biff is clutching his chest when he starts disappearing.

Bif disappearing in Back to the Future 2 should have been kept in the film.
