Quick question re. application of liquid metal - most video guides around show applying the LM on both the die and the lid - given how much easier it is to spread the LM evenly, the fact that LM on the clean die tends to try and stay in one droplet due to surface tension and considering how little LM you should need to bridge the micro gaps between the flay surfaces, why not only apply it to the lid?

Honestly, at this point, I don't want Intel to start soldering their stuff. I have the Delid Die Mate 2 and it's more fun to delid and apply your own favorite TIM, be it paste or LM or wallpaper glue

Thank for your attempt to achive that frequency . i7-8086K has 4000 Mhz, boost 5000 Mhz but with -160 C, only 7244 Mhz . This cpu is really not effective in comparision to other Intel cpus .

My 8086k is running 5.35 ghz at 1.34 voltages. With the x72 kraken keeping it cool i must say this cpu is an enthusiast's dream come true. #teamblue
