Gythio Greece Peloponnese
Gythio is a seaside village in the South Peloponnese, and one of the most important towns in Mani. It is 43 km from Sparta and 256 km from Athens. Built into the hills, Gythio has narrow steep and stairs and a beautiful view of the Lakonian Gulf and the Kranai islet. There are all kind of tourist accommodation, camping, many restaurants and cafés across the coast and in the surrounding area, and great sandy organized beaches awarded with the blue flag. It is worth visiting the Historical Museum in Tzanetakis Tower on the islet, the Acropolis of the ancient town and the well preserved ancient theater where many events take place even today.
