Today we are excited to announce a special offer for registered Record Reason Duo users.

That's right. If you own both Reason and Record you decide what you will pay for the upgrade to Reason 6. We trust you to decide what Reason 6 is worth to you. Whatever you decide, that's what you'll pay*.

This is the perfect move for Propellerhead to make. It's so refreshing to know that there are companies that really care about the quality and satisfaction that people get from their products. I've been a Logic user for the last 4 years, but that very well might change September 30th.

You either use the ignition key or enter your username/password for internet authorization. If you're at home, it's best just to keep the key plugged into one of your USB slots. And yes, if you lose it you can certainly order a replacement. That's no problem.

I bought Record and Reason together two years ago when it first came out, and upgraded since...can't wait for 6. Alligator, pulverizer, and The Echo are gonna be EPIC!

@loenick what you pay is between you and your web browser! As for the feeling of being "jipped, " it will always happen that people feel they've bought something at the wrong time in the technology world. It happens with laptops and iPhones too. We have the grace period to help relieve some of that misfortune but the problem is that whenever you draw a line and decide on a grace period cutoff date, someone on the wrong side of the line will always feel jipped. Hopefully this helps out on that.

i never left Reason. I love how it forces you to truly understand why what certain equipment does so you can further do just that or the opposite.

@loenick Yes you understood correctly. If you own both Record and Reason, you qualify. It's kinda that simple. If you're unsure of whether you have both, just launch Record, go to the Create menu, and see if you can create a Redrum Drum Computer (for example). If you can then you have both. Record doesn't have the Redrum on its own. So if Redrum is in Record's create menu then you have both and you qualify as a registered Duo owner.

@tabulaerasae82 Yeah Reason 6 now includes everything from Record. Record 1.5 will be the last released version of Record since everything is in Reason now. The price of the Reason 6 upgrade is the same price as the Record upgrade you saw a few weeks ago and since it has all the same features plus the new stuff from Reason 6, it makes sense to go for that one. Enjoy!!

no set release date yet. We've said "second quarter of 2012" but the exact date isn't on the calendar yet. But believe me, when it is... you'll hear about it. We'll be shouting it from the rooftops. :)

@JinjaBredManMusic Reason 6 will open up your songs no problem. And as for Record, it opens Reason songs too - not just the rack like you say but the whole song with all the sequencer parts too. Reason 6 is fully backwards compatible to everything we've made with Record and Reason all the way back to version 1.0 projects. Your exisiting key will work to authorize for R6.
