In this Lesson for the Koine Project Class, both how easy and inexcusable it is to PLACE Eternal Life on the WRONG SIDE of Water Baptism. The text of Acts 2:38 can easily (and inexcusably) be misused incorrectly to place ETERNAL LIFE on the WRONG SIDE of the ordinance known as WATER BAPTISM.

I became convinced of the traditional ( from the beginning of the faith, reentrenched by anabaptist) church view of water baptism. It is beautiful act, done publicly to glorify and identify with Jesus, the One who leads us into a new life, raising us from dead actions/works into saved/ born again/ newness of life. The Devil hates for people to publicly renounce evil and embrace God's way through Christ. Heresy is false teachings that are aimed at dividing. Baptism is a beautiful expression....of all Christian doctrines it has one of the greatest abilities to unite us....

It is also worth noticing that many Christians have been martyred for being fewer for observing rituals...the Devil doesn't seem threatened by rituals...

Forgive me, but may you stamp a more laymans explanation of what you were meaning to academically convey?

What i gathered roughly, was that you may have been pointing out that our scriptures mistranslated the sequence of water batism in the early church as a command before belief.

* edit; are you saying rather there wasn't a sequence of one after the other, but actually, one action, of being baptised into the name of Jesus?? A conjunctional action of sorts.
