Thank you Dr. for the comprehensive explanation of an elevated PSA and prostate cancer. I have BPH and an elevated PSA. I am scheduled for prostate cancer biopsy April 15. Your lecture calm my fears and give me greater strength to face my medical predicament. Many thanks again Dr.

I found out I have Prostate Cancer last year. I got the MRI which showed 2 small spots. I got the biopsy done and it showed I have a Gleason score of 3+ 4. I then got a Decipher Genomic Test done which showed it is a low grade slow moving Prostate Cancer. I then went to discuss it with the specialist I chose to do Cryotherapy if I needed any treatment. He advised me to definitely do active surveillance at this time based on all the medical documents. He said the treatment would hurt me more than the cancer at this time. I took his advice and chose to do active surveillance . I will get my PSA checked every 4-6 months to make sure it doesn’t rise above the normal score.

Since PSA was introduced and went global about 1980 around 3, 000, 000 (yes three million) men have been overserviced, wrongly been relieved of their prostate gland.
Don’t ever be told that prostate has only ONE purpose.
