Love that you're covering content on Exodus! Alas, as much as I am excited for the Exodus episode, I am infinitely more excited for the Outer Worlds episode, because I'm much more familiar with the content. I played The Outer Worlds when it came out back in 2019 and fell in love with the game. All the companions were great, and the environmental and overall storytelling was great. One of only a few games that I dug deep into the lore and loved. Both the DLCs were awesome too, but since the announcement trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 dropped, it's been radio silence. Nice to see that silence broken.

Really excited for this! And luckily we don’t have to wait long for Secret Level. The prologue and all of the the other videos that have released so far for Exodus are all really high quality, so I have high expectations for the show. I’m so excited for this game I recently made a video about it myself! It really does seem like a spiritual successor to Mass Effect.

Im daring to think but could exodus (and future games) potentially not only be the true successor to Mass Effect but could even surpass it in greatness.

Its early days but if any franchise could do it, this seems to have the potential too.

I was thinking about how the Exodus humans have a discernible "look" that makes them recognizable as Exodus' art style. Then I was wondering if there might be a lore reason for this, not just an artistic choice. The game is set far enough in the future that gene editing might allow people to choose more expressive features, larger eyes, or more symmetrical faces, according to what's en vogue. Or these could have occurred naturally by mate selection over that time span. Also, humanity might have gone through a genetic bottleneck, where only the most fit/attractive were chosen for ark ships, and planets were populated from those phenotypes. Guess we'll find out soon.

Exodus does look/sound great! And yeah, the only other Sci-Fi game I can think of coming out in 2025 is Directive 8020 which just got an announcement trailer. It’s one of those decision based, clue finder games like Until Dawn and also is in the horror genre, so it’s kind of niche but they’re pretty good games. If this sounds like it’s up anyone’s alley, check out House of Ashes. Slow intro, but the pace picks up and gets really good!
