A real pièce de résistance of a video, Josh! Thanks for the insight. I have no idea what I am doing with home recording so any nuggets of wisdom you drop is always much appreciated.

Josh: asks Kelly a direct question
Kelly: nods silently to avoid speaking from behind the camera
Josh: mentions the term "pièce de résistance"

I'm recording my stuff in a tiny apartment in London and it's also been a lot of fun to be creative around those constraints. You're another level Josh, love your music!

PLEASE MAKE A RECORDING COURSE! Ive been a fan for about a year now and as an aspiring musician, you are one of my biggest inspirations! If i could sound a fraction of how good you do, i would die a happy man😌

I too had great neighbors when our band was practicing. and we played loud but it was a house in a subdivison and we were in the garage or my dining room and they never complained. sometimes they'd drop by and listen, have a beer etc. I found out inviting them over helps.

Wow! Marie Kondo could learn some things from you about organization and squeezing an impossible number of things in one small space :-). Thanks Josh for the grand tour.

Another classic behind the scenes with Josh. I love these things! Great info, great filming, and a guest appearance by Marie. What more could one ask for?

Josh knows words beyond normal human understanding!
I love it when he makes these kinds of videos and we get to see how all those epic videos worked.

I love the brief but very real exchanges between you and Kelly. Every healthy relationship evolves so it can accommodate differences even when that involves frustrations being expressed. You two have been dancing together for a very long time and eventually decided it was working well enough that you'd sign on the dotted line of a marriage license. It is always a pleasure when you share something that has you both involved.... loved the videos of traveling together.. of course that included a great deal of wonderful music making with friends. Happy to hear you're doing well.

reminds me of my old apartment set-up. 13 guitars, bass, and mandolins were everywhere. Never had any room. It was also the best of times.

Your three part series on "Getting the Most Out Of a Portable Recorder" is pretty much the gospel for me when it comes to recording philosophy. Whenever I get too far in the weeds, I come back to those videos as a reminder that less is; in fact, more. Never fails. I would love to see a refresh on those principals and all you've learned in the 9 years since releasing those videos!

You should put that on a tee shirt or a sticker "we're just trying to make beautiful music and capture it as honestly as possible". That is really the end goal and I'd say most people lose sight of that and tend to focus on the gear and the minutia of it all. I for one would be interested in your recording process and will buy that course. Thank you for this!
