Great concept Warren, a pro setting up and working in a production environment similar to what most people creating music work in.

Just wait - you'll be blown away by that Fredenstein compressor. I own a pair and they are one of the best buys in the 500 series world.

I absolutely loved the voice effects at 0:50 ish. I tip my hat to whoever did the editing. And thanks for another great vid, Warren!

I love those six channel strips. A stereo pair of those was my first outboard gear purchase and using them has improved a lot in my mixes

Also, Fredenstein seems like a nice company to support. I recently watched an interview with its founder and he seems like a person who really puts heart into developing his products. ❤

The diy market for 500 gear is a good avenue. For example, Hairball Audio's 1176 units are spot on. Their elements pre (copper) are great.

Diy: recording makes great stuff too. Their OLA5 opto compressor is amazing.

These videos are awesome! Especially for someone just getting into recording like myself, I find these videos to be very easy to understand.

One thing that's worth mentioning is how many great DIY 500 series modules are about. If you can put together an IKEA bookshelf, you can make a DIYRE CP5. And once you get the basics, there are so many great options. Building a Neve 33609 or 1176 clone for $400 and elbow grease is a great way to learn the actual circuits.

Merry Christmas and best wishes to you for the years to come Warren. You’re the closest thing to a mentor in my life. Your channel has tons of invaluable information and it’s always shared with pure generosity and humility. Thanks for everything, you are a beautiful human being.

The Midas chassis is perfect and very cheap!

I’m looking at 500 series right now, as I snared a (used), BAE 73mpl for a great price, I’m now committed.
This was so informative. Thanks so much!

Hairball Audio and DIYRE are great options if you are into building your own stuff to save a few bucks.

I’ve owned the Cranborne Preamp they are good for kick snare and toms. The thump mode is good for the kick and Tom the cream mode is good for snare. I wanna go all 500 in a few months with a faderport might as well call it my mini console

I love this!!!
I’m just now getting into the 500 series stuff and this video has helped me a That
I definitely want the pultec eq! Got to have it!! The regular rack is just too expensive for me. But Audioscape makes a good clone. Trying to wait and being patient is challenging. I know they had some issues with that storm And now moving into a new building. Which I’m glad they were able to get more space.

I always love watching your videos man, I have learnt a lot from them and so I have a very humble request if you could please make a video how to route all the outboard gear for a hybrid recording setup so like if someone wants to use the outboard gear on the way in to the session like a signal chain and and how we can make different combinations without having to reroute everything from the back, Thank you very much.
