For years, Europe has increased its dependence on Russian gas thinking that it would have no real consequences either politically or economically. All this has changed overnight with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Suddenly, Europe has to rethink its entire energy policy.

The question is how? Is it possible to stop buying gas from Russia? If so... What could be the alternative? Green energy? Nuclear? Or perhaps look for other natural gas suppliers? So far, there has hardly been any real political will to find new suppliers. Now there is. The question is, who will sell gas to the Europeans now? In this video we tell you.

What if the guy from Turkmenistan makes us buy one of his CD with each oil barrel we buy ? 😂

I still don't really understand Germany's reasoning behind its decommissioning of nuclear powerplants and replacing them with Russian gas. Seems like a stupid move in general and especially now.

The solution to Germany's energy problems is nuclear power which unlike gas is not carbon intensive. The leader of the German Greens party has said he would consider reopening Germany's recently closed nuclear power plants.

I never understood why Germany is so dead set against nuclear. France blows Germany and really all other countries out of the water in terms of green energy, because of nuclear. Wind and solar are an important mix, but they will never be able to provide all of the base load power requirements for a major country.

So the problem isn't financing and propping up brutal dictators. It's buying from the ones we happen to dislike at this point in history. Got it.

LOL, It always makes me smile when he says Bring back Simon. I would love to see a Grant and Simon video! But honestly Grant, I think you would enjoy being a guest on his Brain Blaze Channel vs him making a guest appearance here. You would have SOOO much more fun with that content and letting loose.

Greetings from Ukraine!

I only hope that the dependency on Turkmenistan is temporary, because insane dictators are bad business partners.

For God's sake I've been researching about Turkmenistan gas and southern gas corridor from internet. Glad that finally one youtuber covered it.

There is another country that has gas. Ukraine particularly in the Russian occupied Black Sea. Remember, there is also an existing pipeline in Ukraine that feeds Europe. These gas storages are the main reason for Putins invasion. Why is nobody talking about this.

You forgot to mention that Russia and Iran have been opposing the construction of trans-Caspian pipeline for 30 years due to “environmental” reasons. Turkmenistan started the construction twice but had to postpone due to Russian aggression. Hopefully, this time a commonsense will prevail.

Finland just had its newest nuclear reactor start producing energy.
Olkiluoto 3 reactor. Massive boost to energy production in Finland.

the one thing you should've probably mentioned is the relationship of Russia to Azerbaidjan and Turkmenistan. They were both parts of the Soviet Union, they all have Russian-speaking people living there now and both are somewhat under the influence of Russia. Moreover, unlike Ukraine, they do not have super strong "allies" to rely on. So can they sell to the EU, certainly they can, but it will be a fraction of what Russia is selling now and at these gas prices, Russia will profit much more than it ever has!

This channel always puts Azerbaijan in bad light,
Well try to survive between Russia and Iran!
Also Armenia is the "biggest" ally of Russia when and sent people and had rallies to support russian invasion of Ukraine. Several countries have ratified Armenians massacre of Azerbaijanies in Khojaly genocide. Why do you think Azerbaijan is bad is beyond me,
Ilham Aliyev might be autocrat but, he is much better than what we have around us,
Democracy will prevail in Azerbaijan but it will be a slow process.

Turkey can be a significant country by transferring Iraq, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan Gas and oil through its territory thanks to its geographical location.

So the “peaceful” Armenians’ opinion is valuable enough to support your opinion on Ilham Aliyev? Maybe ask Armenians about other things about occupying our territories or making around 1mln people flee their homeland or maybe ask them about what cruel and inhumane things they did in Khojaly? Or maybe you should ask them about their 13 terroristic groups they posses? Its interesting how this nations opinion can even matter and is suggested here in your video, since in any case their opinion will be biased. No country and ruler are perfect. Start from your own at least. He can be whatever you call him in your world and other worlds - but he is far way from being “the devil”.
