WOW. Hats of to you Normie. Sung from the heart from a guy who’s been there and got the scars to prove it.

This song had me in tears. Thanks Normie. You're a hero and Australia should be so proud of you. You can see the pain in your face and i'm sure it's the same pain felt by anyone who went to war, my Dad included. I wish I could turn back time and instead of me thinking he didn't care for us or that his drinking was the cause I would have been more understanding. I would have given him more hugs and kisses when he went quiet for days at a time. If I could turn back the clock I wouldn't change him at change ME and how I dealt with it. PTSD eh? Who knew back then? Anyway, Thanks again.

Classic song, and Normie has done it justice. Deserves mainstream radio airplay. :)

My late dad fought in the Greek civil war in the early 50s . He never wanted to talk about it. I was too young to comprehend exactly what he would have gone through when I’d ask him questions about it … he’d have so much sadness in his eyes and would simply answer “ pray you never experience war … “
Great work Normie you’ve touched a nerve 🙏🏻 Peace and love to you 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you to all the Nashos. My brother and two of his mates got called up, my brother didn’t pass the medical but his two mates did. They were both killed in action. When all the men came back from Vietnam they were basically ignored with no thanks for their service. So this song really hits me in the heart

Normie, you have always been a legend to us mere mortal Aussies, and now you have stepped it up to a whole new level. I thought the original had feeling, but then you step up, having lived through this very story, and you can hear every bullet, every guerrilla, every mine, every insult from home, every spit in the face, every cry of a lost mate, every tear of your own. Thank you, and respect. I only see you and other Nam veterans as heroes. To me, there is no politics. You were made to do a job, you did it, you got thrown in a corner when you came home, and you were all made to feel like you were responsible for some pencil pusher’s decisions. To me, you are a veteran, and will always have my total respect.
