When telling a story with your data, the formatting is an important part.

Conditional Formatting makes that easier. With Conditional Formatting, you can change the background color of a cell or row, make the text bold, or set most other formats, based on the content of a cell.

Conditional Formatting with a Custom Formula like this: =find("00",$B6,1) can be an efficient way to format a row based on the value of a cell, by searching the sell for certain text. The entire cell doesn't have to match, only a portion. It's called a substring search. Here's a link to the Google Sheets file. See the sheet named Conditional Formatting:

I am a Google Spreadsheets very regular user, and I very often need to highlight entire rows for my projects. I've been using custom formula "=$A2=TRUE" for example when I want to highlight an entire row if the checkbox is clicked, but I had no idea how to deal with partial text searches! ♥

Add to the video's name the words "color change." You are brilliant, but I almost didn't find you; I was about to give up!

Hey, is it possible to highlight a complete column based on a single cell as well?
