I made a comment on the full video, I have the exact cable you need. Let me know if you'd like it, would be happy to ship it to you.

It's a shame that a 20 cent ribbon cable has bricked the entire laptop.

Time for an external keyboard...
Or use a foldable one and velcro it to the laptop. Did this one one before, so I know it works !

If the keyboard is the only issue then I'm sure there's plenty of solutions

So its just a keyboard connector... use a external keyboard... but you could get a new connector and ribbon cable... not that big of a deal...

meanwhile...chinese .. i can fix that just changing the flex cable

It looks to me like it might have been based off some ODM product, so it might be possible to just buy a replacement keyboard for the original ODM design or another model from a different brand that was based on the same design.

No attempt to find a replacement part?

Hey, I found a couple sources for some of those ribbon cables if you’re still interested in getting this fixed 😊

BSI-161H would have helped you a lot with this job. It is a cyanoacrylate (super glue) de-bonder which effectively reverses the curing process of cyanoacrylate glue. costs about $7 to $8 for a one ounce bottle. All you need is a few drops to dissolve the glue. You wouldn't have had to destroy the connector nor would the cable have gotten as damaged. But besides all that, destroying the connector to save the cable is kind of counter productive. Much easier to purchase a new keyboard than purchasing one of those zif connectors.

I've fixed a cable like this, just use sandpaper until it comes clean, re-tin the cable, and hold it down tight with a toothpick and heat up the solder to get it to adhere to the board. It was very tedious work, took a couple hours, but it did work in the end.

So painful these days they even put the power switch on the keyboard

You can't replace a ribbon cable? Dude... don't be weak.

Solder every pin with a wire. A microscope and 1 hour should be enough.

Replace the cable maybe? I know I must sound really

Cut the ribbon cable back, use sand paper to expose the traces, and solider wire from the copper traces from the keyboard to the PCB copper traces. Secure the ribbon cable with epoxy, then boom. Done.

im not sure if this works but Neosporin will get superglue off your skin, im not exactly sure the why but if it melts the superglue might be a safe thing to try

I really hate that people can now sell a broken piece of garbage for almost half price. When I was a kid, stuff in your garage sale had to be 75-90% of the purchase price to get someone to look at it.

Oh yes.. the superglued ribbon cable..

You can actually just cut off the damaged part of those cable, and peel off the tape just a little bit
