Making a Classic Popper

Having found an old rake handle lying around the garage, I decided to transform it into an array of poppers. Starting with this first one, I go for a simple green color scheme with the classic red mouth.

this came out very nice! I started making lures last summer and I've been making similar poppers but with a through wire. I'm a big saltwater angler so the hardware really needs to hold up! keep videos like this coming! My only concern with this design would be how it sits in the water. With my poppers i tend to put weight farther back than forward so it has a 30ish degree tilt on the water surface. it helps with the popping action!

Just made my first lure, poppers are my favorite to throw during the summer! Just debating if I should put an extra treble on mine..

i’m not sure if you’d see this but i was wondering where exactly i should put my weights i’ve made a couple mock ups on paper for different types of lures i just can’t figure out where my weight should go towards more in the front of the lure or kinda in the middle of the lure

You may know this but epoxy resin will thin if you put the container in hot water for a few minutes before mixing in the hardener.

after opening a can be resin, paint, varnish etc. when the work is finished beam and turn the can with the top down the bottom of the can is facing upwards it will never draw

Very cool! That wood grain is amazing! For Your next one you could make a white belly with an orange lip and leave the wood grain. This one is awesome as well.
