I once asked my opposing counsel to stipulate to a workers compensation hearing continuance because my wife had just given birth 8 weeks early and our newborn son was in the ICU with a life-threatening heart condition. My wife was also hospitalized because she’d delivered by emergency c-section. The jerk actually refused my request! So I went to the hearing straight from the hospital. I was so angry and emotional that rather than speak, I wrote out the reasons for my request for continuance and showed it to the judge and opposing counsel. The judge immediately granted my request and I went back to be with my wife and son. Throughout my career I always tried to be friendly and civil with everyone else but I sure had a hard time forgiving that lawyer ... and I never forgot. (I’m retired now, my wife is fine, and our preemie is now a healthy 20-year-old man.)

That poor client. He’s just sitting there thinking: “I’ve placed my life in the hands of this guy?? Maybe I should represent myself.”

He could have walked away from this incident simply by asking for a continuance. The judge would have granted it in a heartbeat. She tried to point that out then. Then she slowly went after him and whittling down to nothing.

If I were his client I would certainly be begging for a new attorney. Instead of the "I never call the police..." excuse a smart guy would have said, "I was too worried about getting to court on time to spend time calling the police and giving a statement."

He should be charged with contempt simply for wanting to continue the case while drunk, concussed, and admitting need for medical attention.

Holy crap! "I'm good; but I may have a concussion?! And had them before." Hospital immediately. But you're right: bless this judge.

That judge so sweetly kept feeding him rope and tied the noose when she offered the nurse to look at him.

This bloke should have called the court and told them that he had been in a crash, then gone back home to bed. All of this would never have happened, If he had just kept his mouth To quote Judge Judy "You're an idiot!"

I don't know about anyone else, but when I am lying the sound of someone typing is the most nerve-racking sound there is. I am lying, I know I am lying and they are taking every word down.

"I've had multiple concussions before... " aka, I've been in multiple drinking and driving crashes before...

This video is what got me into watching a good majority of court shows. I must have watched this full video 10 times, his client could get a life sentence. The friend Chris & the car disaster are too much! Law enforcement drove around hunting down his car and then he states a previous client loaned it to him. (Possible Mob related?) This guy can't shut up. Last I read he lost his license. Great video for all law needs to watch.

I saw this on a clip show and I’ve never been so blown away. I personally think he is more than drunk. He can’t shut up and he keeps digging himself further and further.

When I looked into your archives I was stoked you made videos about this guy!

As someone who went down a dark road using alcohol to cope with ptsd I legitimately feel for this attorney. I'm willing to bet he's struggling with alcoholism not just a bad drinking decision.

There's 35 minute cut of this, with both the morning and afternoon appearances as the court deals with this attorney, and yeah, it's a slow motion trainwreck for that guy. He has only himself to blame and I hope he got help, but man oh man. And his client is just sitting there, probably thinking, "Malpractice suit. Malpractice suit..."

Revisiting this case after the entire Blandino saga, and now I'm curious if that was a younger Judge Leavitt in this case as well? It certainly sounded like her voice.
