In this Better Human Better Dog clip, I help pet parents with their dog, Romeo. Romeo is an over protective dog that is too excited and needs to be snapped out of it. Quick leash corrections can be solutions to make sure a dog's brain gets distracted.

I am so grateful you share this info with the world.( all your dog communication and psychological wisdom). THANK YOU! So good!

I have adopted a Belgian Shepard sheepdog and a Dalmatian cross and both have been tremendous family dogs through learning and applying your calm, respectful and highly humane tactics.

Sending you peace, light and gratitude.

That woman is scared of that dog. Shes also nervous and anxious. What's the point of having a pet that you're scared of?

My daughter-in-law has a Beagle that is obsessed like that. I keep my mouth shut, but she uses a shock color the Lola barks beyond the zap. I wish I could help but they don't like anyone interfering. I've trained GSD's for decades but I would never allow that.

don't use NAME when discipline. GREAT RULE. name is for affection, NOT DISCIPLINE

My daughter has a dog that acts younger than her age then she becomes aggressive. I love her dog but I think she has made my hair become a little more gray 😊

One of the first and repeatedly trained exercises is to recall your dog to your feet. A high here with this eeee makes it a significant sign. Never put anger or variations and try a constant with a happy timber. Dont make the mistake to shout after he came even if the dog misdoing things - they live in the present and can not connect to the past as we do.
Calling their dogs name and telling "it´s OK" triggers him because he very well understands what ok means. Spelling his name by recalling would go if you got for example 2 or more dogs.
Dont put treats to your recall succseed- Dogs cann smell from far and in case you got no in your pocket he will missunderstand the order. Happiness and affection you always got on hand and is even more effective becaus it creates boundery and tightens the trust. Get him used to it that a "good" does not finish the exercise. Affection at the end and playtime or relaxation afterwise makes this clockwork teamplayer happy ! Best wishes

That lady was useless with her own dog. She just stands there and uses a quiet voice to try to stop the dog. It's like she has no idea how to handle her dog. No wonder the dog is acting that way

I heard that we should never use the dog's name when we're angry or upset, or scolding the dog. The same goes for humans. A person's name is sacred. It must never be dragged down. Same with an animal.
