I grew up in 1950's/60's Bush Terminal. A poor Brooklyn neighborhood. In 1975 after military service I got a studio apartment in Bay Ridge. Rent was $90/month with gas/electric included and to boot, I had a yard. It was swell on 3rd Ave with lotsa stores, bars and good eats. Moved away in 1989. Miss the olden days in Bay Ridge. Crime was low, except for Son of Sam. Safe any hour for women to be about. Think you made some sound choices here. I hung out in Bensonhurst, Dyker heights and New Utrecht in the 60's, went to high school in Park Slope. Tooled around Brooklyn Heights (my girls neighborhood) Carroll Gardens, Brighton and Coney. Glad to see your choices are still considered safe. I was no fool as I did carry my trusty lock blade Mercator K55K every-freakin'-where. Thanks for NOT mentioning overrated, gentrified, yuppie infested Williamsburg. Worst neighborhoods back when were; Ft. Greene, Ocean Hill/Brownsville, Crown Heights, Williamsburg, DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, Sunset Park, Bed Sty and East New York was the worst. A boss video my man.
