My wife passed away today - guess it was yesterday, still up so same day to me... this song meant a lot to us. Thirty + years... I loved her so. As I sit here feeling such grief that I can not begin to relate, it occurs to me how few these days simply don't know what it's like to lose someone they've been with for so long. Most simply don't stay together long enough to know the sort of grief that losing someone they've been with for the majority of their lives brings.
