Lyrics:
I'm a man on fire
Walking through your street
With one guitar
And two dancing feet
Only one desire
That's left in me
I want the whole damn world
To come dance with me

(ohhhhhhhh. Come dance with me)

I'm a hunter at bay
Come and set you free
Over heartache and shame

I wanna see our bodies burning like the old big sun
I wanna know what we've been learning and learning from

Everybody want safety (safety love)
Everybody want comfort (comfort love)
Everybody want certain (certain love)
Everybody but me

I'm a man on fire
Walking down your street
With one guitar
And two dancing feet
Only one desire
That's left in me
I want the whole damn world
To come and dance with me

(bah bah bah bah bah...)

Yay, yay. Come dance with me
Over heartache and rage
Come set us free
Over panic and strange

I wanna see our bodies burning like the old big sun
I wanna know what we've been learning and learning from

Everybody want romance (romance love)
Everybody want safety (safety love)
Everybody want comfort (comfort love)
Everybody but me

I'm a man on fire (he's a man on fire)
Walking down your street (walking down your street)
With one guitar (With one guitar)
And two dancing feet (two dancing feet)
Only one desire (one desire)
That's still in me (that's left in me)
I want the whole damn world (I want the whole damn world)
To come and dance with me (come and dance with me yeahhhhh...)

I want to share this with all you beautiful people, this song was played at my dads funeral over 11 years ago now, the last year or so of his life before his tragic passing he started to listen to Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and this quickly became one of his favorite songs, so we played it at his funeral, Rest In Peace Dad, I love and miss you 🕊 ❤️

I don't understand how Ed Sharpe isn't one of the most popular bands in the world right now. Their music is incredible.

Used to rock bath and forth in the bath tub, from heroin withdrawals, listening to this for courage. I made it out September 4th, 2015 and I've never looked back.

I am in isolation with Covid19, and here in Brazil we are having a hard time with the government that abandoned us. My depression has returned and I am feeling very bad. But when I saw this video, this song that sounds like the voices of my life talking to me, I was happy. I remembered my girlfriend who I love more than anything, she helps me a lot in my life, just like this song did.
Cheers from Brazil.

My uncle Orpheo is the drummer in the band. I’ve been lucky enough to sit in and play with the band a few times for this song. Happiest feeling ever ❤️

I love that they could have made a video of the band in any location, but they chose to give glory to everyday people and their talents. Badass.

August 2016. The venerable Cologne Philharmonic Hall. Sold out. People were seated. Alex and band (Jade was then no longer part of them) entered stage. Opened concert with „Somewhere“. Friendly applause. Next song, „Man on Fire“. While the song was being played Alex left stage, entered auditorium and started dancing. And the crowd joined, stood up, started dancing as well in their seat rows, handclapping, humming, singing along for the entire duration of the show. I believe nobody sat down again for the next two hours or so. It seemed as if the entire audience was on drugs, the drug being nothing else than the music. Alex was totally stunned, he had not expected such a reaction from a German audience. If there hadn‘t been a curfew they would have played until everybody was tired. Thank you Alex and bandmates for the best concert of my life, and for two almost as intense concert experiences in previous gigs I was lucky to attend.

It's so authentic to see real-life people. I don't know why, but it's comforting.

I added this song to the memorial I made for my Dad...I'd never heard it before. It just arrived exactly when I needed it. It's a very powerful and special song to me.

Today I watched this video for the first time . It changed my life. The words are indescribably exact to my current life. The 3rd of this month I was ten months sober from alcohol and drugs. While watching this I sobbed uncontrollably, in a way I have never in my almost 26 years of age. This song has haunted my soul for months. I adore everything about you all keep it up! I will forever love and be grateful for what you do♡♥♡ one

I can't believe I just found out about this song -- 9 years later. What a beauty. We have a lot of catching up to do.

Feels like a Wes Anderson movie, a little bit. The shots aren't symmetrical and the colours are all muted, but it has that touch of optimistic melancholy that all of his films have.

Incredible run, 7 years, 5 as the entity of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Such is life. Nothing lasts but we are grateful for the time we have 'shared' as fans.
