This movie is so underrated. I think it has a lot to do with the time it was released. It was released in 1999, in the middle of one of the biggest years for movies in the 90s. Go back and look at the films that were released in 1999. A lot of people have forgotten about it and streaming services, cable, satellite, or any other premium television service never has this movie on their platforms. Chow Yun Fat only made 4 major American movies. The Replacement Killers (1998), The Corrupter (1999), and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000), and Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End (2007). He should've been in more major American films. Hard to believe he was 43 when he filmed this movie. He looked at least 30 years old in this film.

It's all connected guys, this is a pre-sequel to the departed...after some several years detetive dignam forms up some recruits to try finishing off a notorious gang leader frank costello and in one of the recruits there is colin sullivan who's been working for frank since he was a kid..then there is billy costigan who is sorting this whole mess out..hahahaha this is completely a theory XD

Chow Yun Fat did indeed jumpstart Marky Marks career. Interesting thing is how both developed after it. Great actors have great scripts. Related somewhat to reality.
