COL Edwards is an impostor. According to his uniform and ribbons, he is a full colonel who has served at least one tour in Vietnam, where he won two individual RVN Crosses of Gallantry and one RVN unit Cross of Gallantry. He has 2 Combat Infantry Badges.One would obviously have been awarded in Vietnam, and the other probably in Dominican Republic in 1965. However, he does not have a National Defense Service Medal or a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He has an Overseas Service Medal, which was not awarded until 1981 (his death scene takes place in 1969). He also has no combat unit patch on his right shoulder, which does not line up with Vietnam service. He also has no name tag, although that's just laziness on the part of the director to keep K from realizing who he is. He wears several weapons qualifications badges, and officers don't wear them.
Overall, his awards simply don't make sense, almost as if they were put on the uniform by somebody who doesn't know much about military decorations - like an alien.
