I feel bad for all the employees, business owners etc..for what they are going thru now. It is horrific. The entire county is going thru the worst air quality and the dangerous level of pollutants are harmful to everyone's health in the long term if this trend of wildfires contuniues every year. I don't know for sure if these fires are really due to global warming. We are all part of this planet and nature. Whether there is climate change or global warming or not, we are all part of nature and nature will treat us exactly the way way we treat it. Lot of people all over the world are suffering due to various natural disasters. I have no idea what was in Meadowood before it became a resort and what was there before all these wineries were constucted and burned. If they were all open spaces then we sure destroyed all of that and put up fancy buildings, wineries,palatial houses etc..We can't keep on continuing to destroy open spaces and so thst the counties, govts can make more money in the name of growth and employment. The same liberals and Democrats who preach about global warming are giving permits to destroy open spaces, trees, forests to build offices, luxury homes, ranches, winereie. Pure hypocrisy.

Why are they blaming a house fire on the wildfires? The only thing burning is the house, not grass or trees.

I lived in Calistoga and worked in spas in 1981 to 1989 I remember when it first started. It employed a lot of people in the area, sad for them now not to be employed.

It's completely suicidal to surround your structure with vegetation in California - defensible space please. Many of the people residing in Napa/Sonoma are east coast transplants who are completely unaware of the risk.

Maybe they should build it like the Getty museum fire proof the building and have protection around building water and foliage 300’. They have water sprinklers inside and out with a concrete roof and steel

Instead of building out materials that burn on the exterior of homes, plus Forestry management practices could have saved it but insurance companies will pay for it. So expect rates to go up again.

Why dont yall do a real story, about rent hikes before the 2018 fires and since. Or how the working class cant afford to live in the county that relies on them. I weep more for those that had little and lost everything, rather than those who had all and lost little.

I am so sorry to hear this ! I stayed there whit my husband years ago ! We have so lovely memories ! And the property and the woods around were amazing ! We hope the Meadowood will rebuild soon !! Like him said better times will came!!!
