My best friend and my younger brother and family live in the area, Petaluma, Cotati, and Santa Rosa. We head down a couple times a year, in the spring and fall and it's just one of the premier locations on the planet. I never buy wine at the grocery store, always from the wineries. My brother is a wine club member of a couple of them and so free tasting and discounted purchase. Also love to buy cheese, hit the nurseries, and it's just the saddest thing. Didn't get down the the spring because of Covid and now I'm wondering what's left. This is simply hideous.

My nephew works for Gallo and they are a HUGE conglomerate so if they have been hit at all, they can get through it. Some of the small family wineries will never recover. The owners have put everything the have, financially and emotionally into their business and now it's gone. I am so very sorry.

I feel like someone’s setting these fires. Why are we having non stop fire after fire. Wtf is going on here in California?

Seems odd that the trees around the buildings so close are still standing. There is more to these new fires than we are being told about. So devastating.

Any word on the Frank Family Wineries and the Larkmead Country Inn? Stayed there 4 years ago and would be crushed to see those properties damaged or destroyed. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Calistoga area, one of my favorite places ever.

Sad. Just to think of the damage to all nature. I love Wine Country.

The state of Calif has taken too much land. The state can not take care of so much land. Put the citizens in ownership, let the Citizens purchase land so housing becomes cheaper.

Did the fire get to the point where the students at PUC had to evacuate? I used to go to school there.

So much for CA being the most environmental place on earth. Where are the environmental outrage and determination to fix it?

Glad to hear the mill is safe. The mill and water wheel is quite visible from the highway. Too bad they didn't go to the trouble to actually SHOW THE MILL. Don't know what they thought "the mill" was but it certainly wasn't the mill. The water wheel on its side 36 feet in diameter.

Imo, more people don't care about the winery than do.

Malachi 4:1-3, "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts."
Praying for God's mercy!
