I had this issue with my Samsung fridge. The fridge wasnt cooling anymore as it should. I noticed the holes in the back panel had ice in it and it wasnt allowing the cool air to circulate. Based on your video i tried this blow dryer trick and it thankfully worked! I appreciate the info. My next fridge will definitely not be a Samsung. They need to stick to televisions.

This trick only temporarily helped me. A week later it was frozen again. This time I ordered the thermistor that your commenters suggested be replaced and so far it seems to be ok. I will be back with another update as soon as I can secure this victory over my fridge.

My guy, replace the Thermistor! I was having to do the same thing every 6 months. After putting in the part I've had zero problems in almost 2 years. It's between $10 and $15 bucks on Amzon.

Using a blow dryer is not recommended it ruins the Styrofoam. What needed to be done was add a secondary defrost heater line.

It took me about 1.5 hours to melt the ice to remove the cover just to find more ice so it took me a total of 3 hours from start to finish including cleaning the entire interior of the fridge

I've done this 5 times. The Styrofoam insulation is all torn up from the ice. I'm done. Ordered a new GE today. Looking at comments from repair guys. Samsung is the worst followed by LG
