You have a very good way of explaining things. I can see why you have nearly 3m subscribers. 😁

This is my story of knuckle cracking it all started when my dad used to crack me and my brothers fingers it hurted at first but we got used to it and liked it. Then I decided to try it myself at that time I could only crack my pointing finger then I learned how to crack the rest. Then I kept doing it and doing it that it formed a HUGE HABIT. I also started rolling my feet to crack my ankle. Then my back. And sometimes my neck when I wake up nd my neck is stifft I don't know how to stop I can't stop! I just like doing it!

thanks for the reply Dr. I can't reply directly back to your reply b/c of the way the mobile app works. anyway, thank you for the clarification. that makes me feel much better about the cracks i hear/feel when stretching after workouts. i definitely do not want to over do it because i want to keep on working out and not injure myself unnecessarily. sometimes those cracks that happen while stretching sure do feel nice after a squat session though

I have a question, my neck has been cracking every time I turn my head (no pain, no trauma) I went to a chiropractor who did a 15 minute massage and then cracked my neck, and it didn't help at all. Is there anything I can do to help this? If not, is this something that can go away on its own?

Hi Dr. My neck isn't actually sore but it cracks easily. When I do lateral neck stretches it will crack basically everyday. Is this bad and because I'm not involving my hands or high velocity movements will it do damage/lead to lax ligaments. I sit at a desk a lot at school so it gets a bit stiff I suppose, my posture isn't the best. I've only been cracking my neck really for a few months so nothing more than 5 moths. If it's bad and I need to stop altogether do you have any stretches and excessive do to reduce the urge. Apart from the ones that crack my neck. Thanks

What if your neck seems to be in pain though and/or seems to constantly be out of alignment? Also when I do stretches, it loosens up my muscles and when I turn my neck, it will sometimes crack, I would assume that is okay? For me, many times a day, if I just twist my torso, my back will crack, but if I don't it can feel painful at times because it seems out of place. Even before I go to bed at times too; if I don't twist to crack it, I can feel the pressure on my back. I'm still working on all my posture/ muscular imbalances, etc. but I assume as it gets better that may help, or will my ligaments always be lax now? Or are there corrective/ strengthening exercises for such things that could help my back, neck (even shoulder) be more stable? Thanks

So say you have someone who cracks their neck, knuckles, back, etc, all the time and they become hypermobile. If that person quits cracking their joints, will that hypermobility heal and will things go back to normal?

My hip flexors are always stiff even though I am an active person. I pop them by sitting down in the common yoga position and or half splits in order to do high kicks or for raising my legs 45 degrees or higher. Why is this happening and what can I do to improve this situation?

this is hard because when I wake in the morning the first thing I NEED to do is stretch and my muscles will crack. so your saying don't crack it and let it build up annoyingly? it does hurt after a while if I don't.
