OK people - HELP. First I am going to be contacting Insta360 support next week (Monday) and ask what ways can I activate this camera. I would like to get this camera, but I am not going to buy another mobile phone just for use of this camera.
I have a Motorola G Pure Android phone with latest version 12 android update software just installed today. I do not have the X3 camera at this time. My phone tells me that the Insta360 app is not compatible with my phone and I say WHY????
I had to download the Insta360 app from their website since it did not show up in Google Play app area. Be nice if I could activate it on my PC laptop, but that probably wouldn't work either.
So anybody have any ideas how activate this Insta360 X3 camera other than a mobile phone???? This is ridiculous how they make this camera initially operate.
So, What Android phones do work with this Not that i am going to buy another one. I am definitely not buying an expensive IPhone.

Why is there no warning that communication with the phone is mandatory???
Is it possible to disconnect the smartphone from the camera via the menu in the camera itself after activation? Will the camera ask for activation again?
Let's say I activated the camera using a friend's phone. But I want to disconnect my friend's phone and not link other phones. Is it possible to do this with the camera itself?
Will the indicator work when there is a connection with the phone app?

What Is the normal temperature for the isnta360 x3 camera? Today I unbox it and I start using it, recording in a static place (my office) after 15 minutes the temperature felt so high, I measured the heat, and the camera reached 54.7 Celsius in the back side, is it normal ? Or should I consider returning it ?

Great intro to this camera. I just unboxed this camera, activated & updated the firmware. After watching this video, I notice the video never mention about setting up the date & time on the camera. Wonder how do I set the date & time on this camera for time stamping on the video clips?

Can I start or stop shooting from iPhone?

Spent two hours trying to get the camera to connect to the phones wifi and it has not worked. My Samsung phone does not pick up any wifi signal from the camera.

Anyway, why is all this even necessary? Why do I have to go through these gymnastics just to get it operating? No other product I know has this nonsense attached to it?

+ The camera is excessively hot and I turned it off to three times just to let it cool down. It is not even filming!

++ No instruction book and have to watch Youtube tutorials where you even have the nerve to make us watch third party adverts.

Really wish I had gone with GoPro.
