FBI issues new warning about QR code scams

Federal officials say thieves are often using fake QR codes to misdirect payments, take customers’ money and steal other important information. Last year, there was about $150 million in reported losses involving fraudulent QR codes.

I have been skeptical of QR codes since they first began surfacing. You cannot tell by looking at squares which one is safe and which one is not. The best way to stay safe is to avoid scanning ANY QR codes, ever.
