Almost got it on this one ! when making the bow make one side completely flat or even angled inward so the string rides on one side not the center this will reduce string drag and make the bolt much faster the plywood bow worked great just another half bow laminated to the previous one will double the strength easy. the round tumbler in the trigger setup needs to be wider so you can have a notch in the center for the bolt to sit at the string.... you do not want the bow string to impact the bolt as it will bounce the flight in unpredictable ways.
the tumbler on my crossbow is about 1"~1 1/4" wide to allow a strong hold on the bow string and a notch for the arrow/bolt, the tumbler is wooden but the trigger is aluminum
for strength . the notch on the tumbler had to be reinforced with a screw however (for the trigger release.) Did you notice how much faster the arrows flew from this crossbow because of the straighter bow configuration ? I know it surprised me when I discovered it !
I was used to the commercial versions with a really bent bow.... that is wrong a straighter bow is much better because it pushes the arrow longer when fired.
bow configuration, string riding on the stock and length of draw all make for a great cross bow.... also angling the top of the stock in toward the arrow recess from the side helps reduce string drag. you can't get rid of all the string drag but you can reduce it a long way.

This is neither simple, nor easy to do. the sheer amount of tools you you used is way above most of what normal people have at home. Very nice crossbow indeed, very beautiful, but it's not simple

With his great talent, why not make and use a push stick while using the table saw? Would take only a fraction of the time to make as it would making the rifle in the first place. Hopefully he won't learn the hard way like many who have in his stead. Safety first in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world countries alike! All of that aside, nice video. =)
