That's more trust than I can put into a car lol.

Me explaining the insurance company how that feature failed on me because I forgot to push the brake pedal harder to activate it 🧐.

I use it everyday in my new Corolla and I love it! Driving is less stressful on the leg when I’m stuck in traffic or that one red light that takes an eternity to turn green. 😂

And the only thing that sucks is that you have to engage it every trip, i jus want this on for all the time..

Have the manual. Hold works great but on steep hills, it is useless (for the manual). If you need to hill start, the parking brake is still required. You can manually disengage but it will auto-disengage once you get the clutch to bite and pull away. Another quirk is that Hold only disengages when you press the gas so I usually turn it off in parking lots where I mostly just use the clutch to get the car going rather than on road where the gas is pressed first then clutch engaged for better starts. Once you understand the quirks and limitations of the system, it is pretty great to use. I has grown on me despite initially wishing it was just a manual lever parking brake like the 1.8L manuals.

Living in a very hilly city, this feature is a godsend. 😊

I live in San Francisco where parking on hills is a thing and I could see this being handy, but that is a lot of trust to put in a vehicle

And it stays active until you switch the hold off, so at the next set of lights it will do the same again, until you deactivate the feature.

Yeah, this is a lot of extra unnecessary work for what could have just been a lever handbrake. A lever handbrake is a hell of a lot more practical as well.

Looking to get a new manual and upsize from my Suzuki Swift, only looking for something fairly economical in UK. I fear I may balls this up whilst I'm relearning this system and somehow end up rolling back on a hillstart in absent mindedness if I get careless.

I've already learned how to do heel-toe downshifting on my Swift, and those footwork techniques can be adapted for handbrake-free hill holding/hill starting along with finding the clutch bite point on the left foot... ie I guess I can always lean back on those techniques if I flub the hill hold somehow lol.

One of my life challenges has long been my difficulty holding the brake at lights

I love it for drive thrus only really and drive up atm. It deingageds the transmission and applies the the all four wheel parking brake so you wont have to worry about it moving. Only thing is if on and use it alot could wear down some parts but very well could be negligible amount not making difference really...

Does this mean when you push the HOLD BUTTON, does this mean that the PARK will not Function or the 2 Button will still function?+

Unpopular opinion, but I find this totally useless in an automatic Corolla. I’ve got a 2022 Corolla HB automatic and I REFUSE to use this feature. I just don’t see why it’s such bother to have to hold the brake down. If anything, the feature allows you to be a little more lazy with your driving, opening up doors that could lead you to be inclined to be distracted at a stop light. Ex. Picking up your phone, rummaging around, etc. we need less distractions/lazy features, and more practical/safety oriented features as options.
