It's insane how Valheim has such good atmosphere at such low fidelity.

Played the hell out of Valheim back when pandemic. It gave me that thrill of exploration. Sailing to a different island and hauling valuable ores across the sea is such a unique gaming experience.

I think you can't compare the two games in terms of emotional impact. Every new stage of Valheim is terrifying in such a good way.

i think many people forget that you need less than 2 gb to download valheim and around 60 for enshrouded

Been playing Valheim for a couple of days now. One of the most unique experiences I’ve had in a game. The graphics bugged me for the first 5 minutes but then I realized it’s much much more about the mechanics and the style of the game. The water physics are pretty unreal and being Stuck in a storm at sea is exhilarating. If you love survival games id give this one a try. One of the best survival games I’ve played in a while.

The trees falling in valheim is an amazing game mechanic, I wish the Bow in Enshrouded was more like Valheims aswell

Valheim you venture in the world, setting your own tasks and goals. Enshrouded your are always being told what to do next. I think I prefer Valheim for that reason.

I love both of these games and yes they are similar. I think the key difference is Enshrouded is more of an RPG and Valheim is more like an actual survivor game. I say this because Valheim really doesn't have "Quests". I think Enshrouded looks better visually but I wouldn't say that one is better than the other as a game.

A major mining detail that you missed is that Enshrouded lets you dig tunnels whereas in Valheim whatever you mine will always be exposed to the sky

I bought Enshrouded recently and it's good. Valheim is great. Valheim looks and feels rich and the weapons and interactions feel weighty and just right. Enshrouded looks washed out and feels wrong - building possibilities in Enshrouded are great but not as satisfying to do as Valheim.

I'm curious as to why the reviewer chose to compare digging in Enshrouded with ground leveling in Valheim?? Why not show digging in Val as well?

When I see these two games compared, it gives me the impression that Valheim went for something that was going to be iconic and original while Enshrouded did not. Theres just so much more love you can feel that the developers put into Valheim. With Enshrouded, it looks to me like a knock off of valheim. They must of thought, "We are going to make things bigger and better with better graphics and gameplay/mechanics" BUT they forgot the "Why"... The Valheim devs made something they wanted to play. Not what they think everyone else does. Its not just something you have to show through a video, but what you have to experience for yourself.

Very well :D Dont wanna blame Enshrouded but once U have played Valheim you may will miss features in other survivals:

Cutting trees
They can kill you, u can influence which direction the tree will fall and u have to cut the tree trunk in small pieces.😊

Building
They physics make pillars etc necessary and its not just a nice Feature for the eye only. And u need to take care of smoke If u have the fire pit/chimney etc inside ur house.

Weather:
It makes U feel so comfy to sit in ur place while its stormy outside. Sounds and music changes if u are in a building (comfy Zone) or outside. Yeah some other games are well too but Valheim makes it soo good :3

Valheim is about an art style. It's a beautiful thing, the lighting, feel, emotion, and then the character creation - the fact they move their heads the direction you look using the mouse is an amazing thing to see.

Dont get me wrong...Enshrouded is a good game which I recommend. However, for the reasons illustrated in this video, Enshrouded just made me miss Valheim and I am now playing that gain.

for me enshrouded doesn't "feel" better than valheim. The graphics don't even matter that much, sometimes less is more.

Love them both. Valheim has more of a sense of danger and meaning to base building though. Yeah after I place some natural walls and maybe a moat around my base the enemies can't reach me... but at least they try and some threat exists that has to be dealt with. With Enshrouded it's fun to build a base but it's only for storage/spawn and not defense in anyway. 45 degree angles would be nice as well, 90 degrees is all you get in Enshrouded. The other big difference for me (I am talking vanilla only) is how punishing dying in Valhiem is compared to Enshrouded. If I don't keep a backup set of gear I am going to potentially have to pull off some real bullshit to get my stuff back. With Enshrouded my "critical" items like armour and weapons are retained after death, so retrieving that body is not the alt+f4 inducing experience Valheim can bring.
