A link to the full video is at the bottom of the screen.

That video answers various viewer questions about the index of refraction.

This might be the quickest and most clean explanation of a difficult topic I've ever seen.

The Huygens-Fresnel construction really helps to visualize it even easier I think, but very cool animation and explanation!

Wow. Very concise and easy to follow, impressive for shorts

This is amazing, refraction has always be explained to me as the light "wanting "to take the most effective path.

This is one of the most intuitive explanations I've seen of this! It is excellent!

Thank you for answering a question i was too afraid to ask in class. They keep saying light slows down but never explain why that means it bends.

Best and most succinct explanation of this phenomena I've ever seen.

Now, THIS is a high quality short. This explains a difficult to explain topic while maintaining the truth and it's rigor

I’m glad I saw this before my kids asked me about it. They haven’t stumped me yet but this one would’ve not quite come out right without having seen this visual. Thank you!

I love the way you describe maths with those animations. Their aesthetics and simplicity add a real value to the explanation of the topic! 👍👏

I’ve always seen the car driving through mud as a perfect metaphor for this, as the first front wheel slows down first then it turns as the other wheel does more revolutions to travel more distance, and so rotated until the other wheel crosses into the mud

You're amazing man....few phenomenons which are tough to explain when explained by amazing educators like yourself feel so simple and easy to understand
This might be the second best explanation of a complex phenomenon after Veritasiums explanation on image of a black hole...

Finally a clear, intuitive explanation. My HighSchool education tried to teach this but it still didn't seem to make sense and we just followed whatever the textbook said.

I don't recall where I saw it, but I once saw this visualized using a line of people running on a beach holding hands as the wavefront. The ocean was the denser medium, because you run slower in the water than out of the water (which is also literally what happens, water is denser than air). It was very fun and memorable demonstration showing this very effect.
