At my uncle's restaurant in Germany, they would melt butter and oil together, take it off heat, add their finely diced garlic and some parsley, throw the bread into the pan to mix together thoroughly, and then broil it. It's a bit more work, but I enjoy the result way more.

good video. so here we 1st dry the bread out in the sun with seasoning, then we do the heated oil with butter and we get a very crouton, then we put it in our salads, which here our salads are very heavy in oils, so they don absorb too much oil.

That seems kind of weak.
I cut them all up & sprinkle olive oil and a lot of different seasonings+ s/p. Bake 350° toss, when cool store in glass jar in fridge good 3 weeks
