The Unfortunate Fate of Paimon | Genshin Impact Theory

This Genshin Impact Theory video will detail the unfortunate fate of Paimon. Paimon is without a doubt an essential piece of the puzzle to the story of Genshin Impact. But what could happen to our loveable mascot at the end of the game? I will attempt to uncover the end of Paimon using references from Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: StarRail.

There are many foreshadowing already hinted within the game of Genshin Impact about the Paimon being separated from the trailer. From Dialogues, Events, World Quests and even within the Archon Quests ever since the beginning of the game. But if Paimon were to separate from the Traveler... Why? What is the reason? And what are some of the connections we can make within the game?
All this answered in this Genshin Impact Theory.

Genshin Impact Patch, new update, new Story Quests and world quests. Paimon, new archon quests, new events. Is Shenhe good what about Yunjin? When will we get more, awesome super, story quest that gives us more information about the lore of Genshin Impact? This is not a high damage, one shotting bosses video, although they are cool. Memes are also super funny. But the story and lore is the one of the best aspect in this game. Looking forward to Sumeru when it finally releases.

I like how Paimon annoys the hell out of me 90% of the time but the thought of her dying or not being there anymore makes me sad...weird feeling.

The best evidence for Paimon eventually sacrificing herself is the constant ongoing joke of her being emergency food. Traveller will be in an *emergency* situation and need help, so Paimon will sacrifice herself as a power boost for Traveller to use... officially making her emergency food. Paimon will die.

Paimon's death would destroy some players. From the very first optional Dialogue, we were given the option to call paimon 'emergency food', and many other insults later down the line. The moment the person you've insulted all this time sacrifices herself FOR you, would shatter the traveler.

Here from patch 3.0, act II of Sumeru's archon quest also has many red flags about Paimon never wanting to leave our side. Smol bean literally cried after being left alone for a day.

I also remember Paimon saying something along the lines of "we won't ever separate, will we? we have such a long journey ahead of us." at the end of the Mingyun treasure quest. For once I hope this theory doesn't come true though, I'd be devastated if anything happened to Paimon

i really hope that if we see this play out in the lore there is it’s own archon quest titled “Paimon” like the travelers did. It’s unlikely but i’m rlly intrigued with this theory and want it to be showcased fully 😅

This makes a lot of sense and it just makes me fear even more for the safety of the Paimon.
I placed her on the Serenity Pot home and whenever I open the menu and Paimon doesn't show up it gives me a sense of dread.

Finally it has come to someone's attention!

When everyone was vouching for Paimon is the Unknown God, the God of Time, or at least related to these entities (as I also did after watching your videos), my personal theory at later time was that Paimon is a seelie and I anchored that belief when Paimon referred to herself as the best guide of Teyvat and in one of the loading screens, SEELIES were referred to as the great race who guided mankind. I still haven't finished your video but I feel great that I was not alone in that Paimon seelie theory.

Still, I remember the reason why the entire race of seelies fell, and can't help thinking that maybe Paimon is somehow related to that one seelie who fell in love with an outlander.

8:14 that could be true seeing how there's a possibility that the old archons (venti, zhongli, etc.) were the ones who destroyed khaenri'ah and were not in control of themselves then. Maybe paimon could also be controlled by the same thing. (genshin = original/primordial god) So maybe that's why it's called that. Cause the whole plot line would be based on that because it's a recurring theme.

It actually makes sense. Paimon is one of the only people in teyvet that means a lot to the traveler. If paimon sacrificed herself to save the traveler, the story would flip upside down. that's yet another parallel to honkai, after himeko sacrificed herself and that paved the way for the next 14 chapters. I can't imagine any other character's death in genshin having that effect on the traveler other than (besides the twin) paimon

One theory that I always joked about with my daughter is that Paimon is the Unknown God and will become the final boss. But, her difficulty will be based on all the interactions we have had with her involved. The game is secretly keeping track of all our answers when we are given multiple choice. Based on those answers will determine how "mad" she will be when the time comes. My daughter thinks it would be hilarious because at the rate I am going, I will probably get the highest difficulty while she is relatively safe to a point in comparison.

Pre watch:
The way i see it, Paimon could be the unknown god/a higher being. But after the cataclysm, she lost all her power and reverted to paimon(think like Megaman volnut/ midna from Zelda).

Traveler scoops her up, befriends her, adventures with her, and shows her love she'd NEVER experienced from her celestial siblings/coworkers.

On the journey, she encounters mortals and gods, and sees how they get along, how the mortals display such kindness, love, heroism, and potential to grow. This maybe shocks her and gets her thinking "maybe mortals arent the little shits we believe them to be". This causes paimon to change her mind, from believing Mortals as just beings with no higher purpose, she instead grows to care for them. And this manifests when she returns to her true form. Desiring to help the travelers any way she can in the final battle. I see her sacrificing herself to save us. Giving a warm smile as she says goodbye.

However, if she survives, I can see her coming with us if we choose to leave teyvat, going from place to place if we leave her behind, ruling celestia as its new benevolent goddess, or going on a journey of her own.

Whatever the future has in store for her tho, im excited, yet worried. Shes grown on me so much. I love Paimon and I want the best ending for her. 👌🏾

I don’t see Paimon ever meeting an untimely fate because she is literally a part of the game’s UI, and floats around in certain interactions. I think it would be awkward on the development side.

I also have a theory that Paimon lost all of her powers and shrunk like what happened to Guoba. I remember when Kiana's eyes were blue when she's in her good side and turns yellow when she's herrscher. Maybe Paimon might evolve and turn bigger as the journey continues. Her eyes will probably change colors too...or is she one of those moon sisters..?
