Today we prepare two recipes for purslane salads from De Honesta Voluptate et Valetudine by the humanist Platina, who lived in the 15th century, and Costanzo Felici's book about salads, dating to the 16th century.

Ingredients:
purslane
salt
white wine vinegar
olive oil
cucumber

basil
black pepper
cinnamon

Interesting! Purslane is used in a few turkish dishes, I only knew it as a stew with tomatos or mixed with yogurt as a salad, I never tried it by itself with vinaigrette! Cinnamon and pepper sounds like an interesting combination.
